We’ve lived in Seville area for over nine years now, and I have to tell you — this place is special.
Don’t get me wrong. We had wonderful neighbors in Ottawa, and the people we met in Germany were amazing. I still keep those friendships today, and I’m grateful for every one of them. I’ve been lucky everywhere we’ve landed. But this community is extra special, and I’ve been trying to find the right words for it.
Five years ago, my husband had an accident. The scary kind — the kind that lands someone in the hospital for days. Suddenly we were a family that needed more hands than we had.
And our community stepped up.
They watched our kids. It was over Thanksgiving, so people had family in town, plans of their own and still they were there for us. They brought meals once he was home. And they checked in on my headspace — not just “how is he doing?” but “how are YOU doing?” If you’ve ever been the one holding everything together, you know that’s the question that undoes you.
I talk about nutrition, sleep, and stress all day long. But that experience taught me something no certification ever could — community belongs right alongside them. Feeling held by the people around you changes how you get through the hard stuff. It’s the ripple effect in real life: when one family gets support, the whole household breathes again.
I couldn’t stop thinking about the old saying, “it takes a village.” Around here, it takes a Sevillage. 💚
So I turned that feeling into something you can hold — It Takes a Sevillage tumblers and notebooks (and more if YOU want), now in my Etsy shop. I made them to celebrate this community and the people in it. And here’s what I love most: they’ve turned out to be a perfect welcome-to-the-neighborhood gift for new homeowners. If you know someone who just moved in, this is your sign!

Something else is brewing for the littles in our community! 🧑🍳
I’m working on some kids/teen classes coming soon, and I can’t wait to share the details.
Definitely planning to my Thanksgiving prep class for kids again – it was so popular!
Because when kids learn to feel good in their bodies and in the kitchen, the whole household feels it. That’s the ripple effect at work!
And I’d love your help shaping them. What would you want your kids to learn? What would make a class a must-do for your family? Hit reply or send me a message with your ideas. Some of my best plans have come from conversations with this community, and I read every single one!
Now I’m curious — who showed up for you when you needed it? Take a minute this week and tell them. I promise it lands harder than you think!
And if you’re local, come be part of community with us. Lucy from Live Right Wellness and I are hosting Feel Good Through the Holidays this Sunday, October 4th, from 1:00-4:00 PM here in Gilbert — sound healing, meditation, and a hands-on meal-prep session where you’ll leave with a holiday appetizer AND a family meal already made. Spots are limited!
Here’s to the people who show up,
Tracey
